Annie’s Project in Albany County …

> Hopefully, you were able to attend our April meeting where this program was presented & discussed.

A group is forming that aims to empower ag women to be better business partners. Annie’s Project is for farm and ranch women with a passion for business and involvement. Participants say that they find answers, strength and friendship. They also grow in confidence and business skills. Networking and interactive learning provide the foundation. The program draws participants from multiple generations, and every class is tailored to the local area.

We’re looking at offering a program this fall, and we want a small group to help select the topics that are important in Albany County. We’d meet a time or two to talk about what would be best. Potential impacts of the program include:

  • Increasing use of production records
  • Creating and using marketing plans
  • Communicating better in the family and ranch
  • Calculating breakeven prices and preparing financial statements
  • Writing and reviewing farm business goals
  • Estimating and reviewing retirement costs and needs
  • Helping a new generation get started in ag
  • Having a good time

Drop a line to Cole Ehmke with UW Extension if you’re interested in helping with the planning or would like to participate in the class. and 766-3782.
